God made a promise in Isaiah 1:18 “Come now, let us reason together, says the LORD: though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they are red like crimson, they shall become like wool.”  But that promise was not unconditional.  The verses that follow describe the difference in the two paths that could be chosen.  Today we also have His promise of having our sins cleansed.  Our Savior made that possible.   The promise for us today is still conditional.  The words of Jesus in Matthew chapter 7 make that very clear.  “Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven.” (Matthew 7:21)
