2023 Day 172 – 1 Kings 10-11; 2 Chronicles 9
Just like in our country’s history, the nations in Bible times had both good and bad leaders. Asa was one who reigned over Judah. “And Asa did that which was good and right in the eyes of the LORD his God:” (2 Chronicles 14:2) We see how when nations followed God, He blessed them in whatever way that He knew they needed. “and he went out to meet Asa and said to him, ‘Hear me, Asa, and all Judah and Benjamin: The LORD is with you while you are with him. If you seek him, he will be found by you, but if you forsake him, he will forsake you.'” (2 Chronicles 15:2) We can also be assured today that if we follow God’s word, He will reward us eternally. “Therefore, my beloved brothers, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that in the Lord your labor is not in vain.” (1 Corinthians 15:58)
