Our Heavenly Father provides us with everything good that we have in this life.  “Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow due to change.” (James 1:17)  David knew this fact.  “Then King David went in and sat before the LORD and said, “Who am I, O LORD God, and what is my house, that you have brought me thus far?” (1 Chronicles 17:16)  The humble attitude we see here from David shows that he knew that God gave him so much more good than he deserved.  We can all say the same thing.  Instead of giving us what we deserve, He shows His love for us.  “He does not deal with us according to our sins, nor repay us according to our iniquities. For as high as the heavens are above the earth, so great is his steadfast love toward those who fear him; as far as the east is from the west, so far does he remove our transgressions from us. As a father shows compassion to his children, so the LORD shows compassion to those who fear him.” (Psalms 103:10-13)
