Solomon had great wisdom from God, but he did not always follow what he knew to be right.  He tells us where following instruction will put us.  “Whoever heeds instruction is on the path to life, but he who rejects reproof leads others astray.” (Proverbs 10:17)  None of us want to be one of those he is talking about who lead others astray.  We can all look back and see people who have been influences in our lives, both good and bad.  The Hebrew writer tells us to focus on those positive influences and try to follow their way.  “Remember your leaders, those who spoke to you the word of God. Consider the outcome of their way of life, and imitate their faith.” (Hebrews 13:7)  Paul told us thru his writing to the Corinthians to follow his example because he was following the greatest example that ever walked this earth.  “Be imitators of me, as I am of Christ.” (1 Corinthians 11:1)
