2020 Day 234 – 1 Kings 15-17 and Psalms 51

2020 Day 234 – 1 Kings 15-17 and Psalms 51

Nathan told David a story of a rich man needing a lamb to feed to his guests and instead of using one of his own, he killed a poor man’s only lamb.  David got angry towards the rich man in the story, but did not realize that Nathan was comparing his killing of Uriah to this rich man’s killing the lamb.  “Nathan said to David, “You are the man! Thus says the LORD, the God of Israel, ‘I anointed you king over Israel, and I delivered you out of the hand of Saul.” (2 Samuel 12:7)  Psalm 51 is David’s response after Nathan talked to him.  Thru the entire Psalm we can see David’s penitent heart.  He knows where to go for the power to remit sins.  “Wash me thoroughly from my iniquity, and cleanse me from my sin!” (Psalms 51:2)  Today we have that power thru our Savior.  “But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus his Son cleanses us from all sin.” (1 John 1:7)
