2020 Day 168 – Numbers 19-20 and Proverbs 16

When God told Moses to speak to the rock and water would come out, Moses disobeyed.  He struck the rock twice instead of just speaking to it.  God let Moses and Aaron know right then what their punishment would be.  “And the LORD said to Moses and Aaron, ‘Because you did not believe in me, to uphold me as holy in the eyes of the people of Israel, therefore you shall not bring this assembly into the land that I have given them.’” (Numbers 20:12)  Moses took into his own hands what needed to be done to solve the problem.  He did not trust God nor give God the credit for the water that appeared.  No matter what is going on in our lives, if we will take it to God in prayer and truly trust Him, He will provide the best solution.  “Have you not known? Have you not heard? The LORD is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth. He does not faint or grow weary; his understanding is unsearchable. He gives power to the faint, and to him who has no might he increases strength. Even youths shall faint and be weary, and young men shall fall exhausted; but they who wait for the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint.” (Isaiah 40:28)
