2020 Day 97 – Jude and Psalms 97

Jude wrote with a warning about false teachers.  “Beloved, although I was very eager to write to you about our common salvation, I found it necessary to write appealing to you to contend for the faith that was once for all delivered to the saints. For certain people have crept in unnoticed who long ago were designated for this condemnation, ungodly people, who pervert the grace of our God into sensuality and deny our only Master and Lord, Jesus Christ.” (Jude 1:3-4)  His warning was not for obvious false teaching coming from outside, but to watch for those who sneak in and gradually twist the Word of God.  How do we thwart the working of false teachers?  Like Paul told Timothy, we have to know God’s Word to be able to spot teaching that is not true.  “Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.” (2 Timothy 2:15)
