2020 Day 91 – 1 Peter 1-3 and Psalms 91

We all have things that give us joy, but James has an idea of joyous occasions that might seem odd.  “My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations; Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience.” (James 1:2-3)  Peter also talks about our faith being tried and how great that can be for us.  “In this you rejoice, though now for a little while, if necessary, you have been grieved by various trials, so that the tested genuineness of your faith—more precious than gold that perishes though it is tested by fire—may be found to result in praise and glory and honor at the revelation of Jesus Christ.” (1 Peter 1:6-7)  James gives us encouragement of what lies ahead if we do stay faithful thru the trials of this life.  “Blessed is the man who remains steadfast under trial, for when he has stood the test he will receive the crown of life, which God has promised to those who love him.” (James 1:12)
