2020 Day 90 – James 4-5 and Psalms 90

The power of prayer is often doubted and neglected.  James reminds us of the power that exists in taking our needs to God.  “Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.” (James 5:16)  Similarly Paul encourages us to take everything to God first.  “do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God.” (Philippians 4:6)  When things are so bad that we cannot even put our needs into words, we have a Helper for that too.  “Likewise the Spirit helps us in our weakness. For we do not know what to pray for as we ought, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groanings too deep for words.” (Romans 8:26)
