2020 Day 76 – 1 Thessalonians 3-5 and Psalms 76

2020 Day 76 – 1 Thessalonians 3-5 and Psalms 76

Paul told the Thessalonians to rejoice all the time.  “Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.” (1 Thessalonians 5:16)  He told the Philippians something to doubly rejoice in.  “Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, rejoice.” (Philippians 4:4)  Jesus told us a reason to rejoice.  “Rejoice and be glad, for your reward is great in heaven, for so they persecuted the prophets who were before you.” (Matthew 5:12)  Part of being a Christian is sharing with others in rejoicing, but also sharing in grief.  “Rejoice with them that do rejoice, and weep with them that weep.” (Romans 12:15)  But no matter what happens, if we put our trust in the Lord, we can rejoice.  “For our heart shall rejoice in him, because we have trusted in his holy name.” (Psalms 33:21)
