2020 Day 58 – 1 Corinthians 7-9 and Psalms 58

It is easy to let knowledge and confidence turn into pride and arrogance.  There are many places throughout scripture that warn us against letting this happen.  Proverbs has several of those warnings, and one is found here in 1 Corinthians.  “If anyone imagines that he knows something, he does not yet know as he ought to know.”  (1 Corinthians 8:2)  Paul follows this verse with an answer how to combat this attitude.  “But if anyone loves God, he is known by God.” (1 Corinthians 8:3)  If we have this love of God that Paul is referring to here, it will be more than just a feeling.  If we truly love Him, our actions will show it in every facet of our life.  “If anyone says, “I love God,” and hates his brother, he is a liar; for he who does not love his brother whom he has seen cannot love God whom he has not seen.” (1 John 4:20)
