Salvation has been made available to all people.  “For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men,” (Titus 2:11)  But there is a way that we must live to gain the salvation that is promised to all.  “Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world; Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ; Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works.” (Titus 2:12-14)  We are to strive to be that “peculiar people” that stand out from the world by being “zealous of good works.”  Peter also gives us motive to be zealous for doing good.  “Now who is there to harm you if you are zealous for what is good?” (1 Peter 3:13)
